A deeper look at my sustainability practices for my shop.
I am a one woman operation. So there is not a lot of production waste to begin with, let’s start off with that. However, I try to reuse as many materials as possible and look at my shop in a circular approach. That means I reduce, reuse and recycle as follows:

The Sculptures Themselves
All of my sculptures are made from cardboard, Styrofoam, newspapers and other materials I collect from my household and businesses around the area from where I live. If I run out, I can’t make more because I will not purchase these materials new. The good thing is, I won’t run out because there is SO MUCH Styrofoam everywhere - it’s mind blowing. You know when you pay close attention to something and then you just see that thing everywhere without even trying? Yeah….that’s Styrofoam.
The Shipping Materials
All of my shipping boxes are reused amazon boxes that I also collect from anywhere I can. So you might get your shipment in an interesting box instead of a brand spanking new one. All of the plastic bubble wrap or plastic “airbags” (if any) are re-used and never purchased new.

The Post Office
All of my post office drop offs are made on my e-bike. It’s truly a funny site sometimes if I have a lot of boxes that I’m trying to drop off at the same time.
I'd also like to use this platform to educate more people about the environment and what we can do to improve. That starts with collecting knowledge about this topic. I've compiled some food for thought that I'd like to peruse by clicking on the button below.
